Praying Mantis Style

***Praying Mantis Style***

Qi Xing Tang Lang Quan (Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu) is a traditional Chinese martial art famous for its aggressive striking and Chin Na (joint locking) prowess. Praying Mantis Kung Fu is inspired by the speed and accuracy of the praying mantis insect from which the characteristic mantis-hands are derived. However, its footwork is adapted from the deceptive and agile gait the monkey.

Qi Xing Tang Lang Quan is a branch of Praying Mantis that derives its name from a particular stepping pattern known as the "Qi Xing Bu" (Seven Star Step). Its repetoire includes: grasps followed by strikes to vulnerabilities in the human structure, strikes, low kicks from close range, standing limb locks, and some felling techniques.

Praying Manits Kung Fu is an External Martial Art (Wai Jia Quan) that is especially suited to the young as it requires a certain level of physical conditioning and activeness. Praying Mantis Kung Fu is ideal for expending energy to improve discipline and mental focus; It is excellent for maintaining fitness and improving self defence.
